Istanbul and Antalya make it to top 25 instagrammable hotspot list

Istanbul and Antalya, two cities in Turkey have made it to the list of most instagrammable destinations in the world. The news was released by Hoppa, a comparison company for transportation tariffs that released a list of 50 cities that were shared most on social media site Instagram in 2019.

According to the report, Antalya was ranked 25th whereas Istanbul was ranked 5th in the list with 74 million 710 thousand 531 shares. Among the shares 42.4 pc in Istanbul are with food, 16 pc of the landscape and 14.6 pc with selfie in the regions.

Istanbul is the cultural epicentre of Turkey whereas Antalya is in between of the culture and party. Istanbul offers a blend of western and eastern culture and is just bustling with things to do and see.

“Turkey is blessed with immense scenic and historical beauty which makes it a very Instagrammable and photographed destination. In the International's city arrival report, Istanbul and Antalya have been listed among the top five cities in Europe in terms of the international tourist arrivals in 2018. This accolade will definitely generate more interest amongst tourists to travel to Turkey,” said H Deniz Ersoz, tourism counsellor Turkey Embassy, New Delhi.

Mauritius Tourism hosts golf tournament in three Indian metro cities

Situated in the Indian Ocean the tropical island of Mauritius along with its pleasant weather all-year round provides perfect golfing holiday destination. To promote Mauritius as a golfing destination, Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) organised Mauritius Tourism Invitational Golf Tournaments in collaboration with IGTA, MGTA and Air Mauritius in three metro cities of India, Bangalore, Mumbai and NCR Delhi.

The events in all three cities were attended by players, corporates, businessmen and senior persons from the travel industry and golf enthusiasts. The tournament had prizes in two handicap categories and one for the Best Gross Player along with lucky draw winners. MTPA India hosted the top three winners from each city for the finals in Mauritius at Heritage Golf Club on May 31. The winner of Mauritius-India Golf Cup 2019 was Arjun Mallik and he was felicitated and awarded at the World Travel Award held in Mauritius on June 1, 2019.

Vivek Anand, country manager, MTPA, overwhelmed at the success of the initiative said, “Mauritius, besides being an ideal round the year destination for the entire family, also boasts ten 18 hole golf courses, each offering a unique golfing experience.”

Carnival of culture and tourism at Asian Culture and Tourism Exhibition 2019

The Asian Culture and Tourism Exhibition held in Beijing, capital of People’s Republic of China, to exchange the experience of Chinese culture and Asian civilisations with an aim to achieve an all-round development and prosperity of Asian civilisations. Keeping up with the theme of culture and tourism, the exhibition witnessed a range of cultural performances and forums, trade talks for culture and tourism products, exhibition, as well as promotion of guest-of-honour countries, themed provinces, cities and autonomous regions.

Hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, PR China, the event began with an opening ceremony, followed by parallel forums including Forum on Asian Culture, Tourism, People-to-People Exchanges and Asian Civilisation Week. Covering over 30,000 square metres of the National Agricultural Exhibition Centre, the exhibition represented a gathering of governments, travel agencies, hotels, resorts and airlines across China and from more than 30 Asian countries and regions, including Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

“Just as the Chinese president Xi Jinping proposed, mutual exchange of experience of all cultures across the globe is the new perspective of civilisation of China to co-develop and prosper the Asian civilisation in harmony,” said Luo Shugang, minister of Culture and Tourism of China. While a wide range of tourism projects and various commodities were displayed in the event, but the cultural dance and songs performed by various troupes was the biggest attraction of the event with traditional Lion dance and Chinese folk songs.

Witness pride celebration with Tel Aviv Pride Parade 2019

Tel Aviv, a city with multicultural influences and open-minded locals, arranges a series of events across the city every June, in honour of the Pride month where people of all genders, religion and colour, flood the streets of Tel Aviv in support of love, diversity and freedom to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. With parties, lectures and art exhibitions, Tel Aviv Pride Week presents a celebration in a creative and energy-packed environment. The festivities attract hundreds of thousands of participants from both Israel and abroad, with the most-attended and anticipated event being the Tel Aviv Pride Parade on June 14.

The festivities for the Pride Parade will kick off at 10 AM at the corner of Melchett and Ben Tsiyon Boulevard for the 21st time this year; continue along the streets touring throughout the city and reach Charles Clore Park for further celebrations. The celebrations include concerts, colourful floats and drag shows. Local LGBTQ+ businesses will set up booths and there will be speeches by members and friends of the fraternity.

The Israel Ministry of Tourism will be hosting television and stage actor Neil Patrick Harris (Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother) along with his husband, chef and actor David Burtka, for the Tel Aviv Pride Parade celebrations this year. “Tel Aviv Pride has become an important symbol of LGBTQ visibility and acceptance on the world stage,” said Harris.
