Amazing Thailand launches 'Fly me to Thailand' for short-haul markets in India

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Bangkok Airways have launched a new ‘Fly me to Thailand’ promotion, offering privileges, gift cards, discounts and many more special deals for travellers from Cambodia, Lao PDR., Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) as well as Malaysia, Singapore and India.

Klissada Ratanapruk, TAT executive director, ASEAN South Asia and South Pacific Region said, “Thailand is entering this year’s high season from October onwards, so it is an opportune time to offer special privileges for tourists from our neighbouring ASEAN countries as well as from our long-standing, short-haul friend, India. The special offers from operators of tourism products and services across the country will also help enhance the awareness of the amazing variety of Thai travel experiences.”

Under the ‘Fly me to Thailand’ promotion, every group booking of three travellers from India, CLMV, Malaysia and Singapore on Bangkok Airways can get a Central Group gift card valued at THB 800. They can also get discounts, special deals and privileges at 63 tourism products and services including hotels, resorts, spas, amusement parks, adventure parks, water parks, museums, restaurants, aesthetic clinics, and much more.

Klissada said, “The promotion is expected to attract an additional 25,000 travellers from the target markets to travel to Thailand between now and December 31, 2019.”

Tourism Malaysia joins hands with EaseMyTrip to promote the destination

EaseMyTrip.com, (EMT) one of the players in the online travel aggregators segment has joined hands with Tourism Malaysia to promote the destination amongst Indian tourists and offer customised tour packages for Malaysia at attractive rates. For promoting tourism in Malaysia, Indian Television actress Adaa Khan joined EaseMyTrip’s team.

Seychelles Tourism strengthens its outreach in India with three-city roadshow

Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) conducted three-city roadshow in Chennai, Ahmedabad and Delhi on September 16, 18 and 20, 2019 respectively, to strengthen its outreach among the travel trade fraternity in India. To retain the growth momentum of Indian arrivals into Seychelles, the tourism board along with destination management companies, hotels on main as well as private islands and Air Seychelles connected with around 225 prominent travel and tour companies of India. This interactive roadshow platform with prefixed meetings allowed trade partners and travel agents to network and learn more about the diverse product offerings and experiences that Seychelles has to offer.

Commenting on the event, Sherin Francis, STB chief executive stated, “The annual roadshow in India is a marketing event that is extremely substantial for the destination. It gives us immense pleasure to see our Indian partners always eager to keep updated with Seychelles. This roadshow was well attended and received a remarkable response from all three cities.”

Lubaina Sheerazi, STB representative in India added, “We are extremely pleased to have received positive and encouraging feedback from stakeholders about the format and quality of meetings conducted at the roadshow. Delhi and Ahmedabad have been among the top three markets for Seychelles and we wanted to revisit these cities to ensure quality engagement with all trade partners there. With our marketing strategies and efforts, we continue this engagement and reach out to more potential markets in the coming years.”

LOT Polish launches new route from Delhi to San Francisco

LOT Polish Airlines continues to grow its US network as the airline will launch a new direct flight from its Star Alliance hub Warsaw to San Francisco effective from August 5, 2020. The new flights provide travellers from India a new and convenient option to fly from New Delhi to San Francisco with only a short stop in Warsaw. Flights will be operated four times a week by modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

“San Francisco has been on our list of new destinations for some time already and we are glad that we can now announce this new exciting service. The city is an important destination for tourists and due to its close location to Silicon Valley also for business travellers,” says Rafał Milczarski, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.

“LOT Polish Airlines has a long and successful history in flying to the United States from its home hub in Warsaw. We are very pleased that effective August 2020 we can add San Francisco to our network, offering our guests from India a fast and convenient way to fly to the biggest metropolis in Northern California,” Amit Ray, regional director India of LOT Polish Airlines, adds.

The tickets for Delhi-Warsaw-San Francisco flights will be available for sale in India effective October 19 through all sales channels.

Messe Berlin (Singapore) launches Travel Tech Asia 2020

Messe Berlin (Singapore), one of the world’s leading trade fair companies, announced that it will be organising the inaugural Travel Tech Asia 2020 in Singapore. The three-day conference will take place from October 21-13, 2020 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands. Travel Tech Asia is under ITB Asia’s umbrella of events and will be co-located with ITB Asia and MICE Show Asia in 2020, bringing together the largest travel showcase yet in Asia.

V R Costa Brava hosts its first travel networking event in Mumbai

V R Costa Brava, a destination management company specialising in the Costa Brava region of Spain, hosted their maiden networking event for the travel trade fraternity in Mumbai on September 27 at Su Casa, Bandra. The idea was to introduce the company’s offerings and highlight its USPs among key tour operators, up-market leisure agents and media personnel with an aim to enhance commercial ties with the industry. Airbnb reveals 20 trending destinations to visit next year

Airbnb has forecasted about the 20 trending destinations for 2020 for those who are looking ahead to travel planning for next year. The list reveals a growing interest in lesser known and eco-conscious cities and countries across the world based on Airbnb booking data. Kerala is also on the list and is only Indian state on there.

Ranging from post-industrial culture hubs like Milwaukee and Guadalajara to emerging destinations that are benefitting from an increase in sustainable tourism, this year’s list is full of surprises and hidden gems. Their research also shows that some of the top trending locales are cities and regions that are preparing for big events like the 2020 Mars Exploration Program launching from Cape Canaveral and the many surf competitions happening in Ubatuba, Brazil.

While Milwaukee tops the list with 729 pc yoy growth, there are cultural and heritage hubs like Bilbao in Spain, Buriram in Thailand, Maastricht in Netherlands; beach cities like Malindi in Kenya, Vanuatu and Cape Canaveral in Florida in US. The few destinations on this list are also due to the sports events like soccer, Summer Olympics and such which will be conducted next year.

Siam Hop - the travel partner for tourists in Bangkok

Siam Hop is a hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus service that covers many of Bangkok’s major tourist sites and entertainment, business and shopping locations. The service is designed to help tourists plan trips in Bangkok with comfort and safety, as well as provide greater use of their time.

With flexible booking choices for customers which are not bound to a specific time and date it is a great offer as the tickets are activated when passengers board a bus for the first time. Tickets that have yet to be activated will remain valid for six months.

Tourists can hop-on-hop-off the bus at any time to explore several attractions covering major Bangkok areas, moving around at their own pace to create unique travel itineraries. There is no time limit to stay at places they choose and hop on the next bus whenever they are ready.

Interconnections at various points allow passengers to move freely from one part of the city to another. HOP STOP will be clearly signposted on the roadside, indicating where the bus will stop. The help booths, which will be located at major attractions, will provide customer service and local information. Siam Hop Application will help tourists to manage their waiting. They will know in advance when the next bus is coming with GPS positioning.

Popular board game Monopoly arrives in Dubai

The world’s most recognisable board game icon has arrived in the UAE, bringing along a unique MONOPOLY board game, one set in Dubai! Starting October 9, follow Mr Monopoly’s journey as he visits iconic locations around the city and start guessing which will have a spot on the board game.

Throughout the following weeks, both Dubai residents and tourists will have the chance to meet and greet with Mr Monopoly, joining him in numerous activities around town. To track the man in the top hat, follow #MrMonopolyinTown and #MonopolyDXB on Instagram. Players will have a chance to “Pass Go” when Mr Monopoly reveals his new board on the November 4. Until then, the guessing game is on!
